I personally think these rival the neon tetra for color
when placed in a school under ideal conditions. They are magnificient fish as they never stop swimming and the blood red of
the fins against the silvery bodies creates alot of dazzle in a tank.
These fish are from Argentina and most available are bred here in Florida
and increasingly more in the far east. They are very hardy and as with the Pristella, they make absolutely great first occupants
in a new tank. Aside from their beauty, they get along with anything so being a first occupant leaves the door open for most
any new fish to be added afterwards.
Water parameters are easy to maintain for this fish, extremes should
be avoided, they do well in water that is cooler, (high 60's), and will thrive in water in the low 80's.
Feeding is simple, flake food suffices, but T's Olde Towne Pet Shop
would prefer you to add an occasional treat of frozen or live food.
